Sewer spill occurs near Mission Parkway

Sewer main ruptured;  flowing into SA River

San Antonio Water System crews are responding to a sewer spill that occurred near 8510 Mission Parkway. The cause at this point is undetermined, but the extended drought followed by recent wet weather could have contributed to soil movement in this area, which is known to have high clay content. The spilled amount will exceed the requirement for public notice. Click this TCEQ notice for more details.

Crews will work to stop the spill tonight. With daylight tomorrow, crews will further investigate possible causes for the break while conducting repairs and cleanup efforts.
