WHAT: Job Fair featuring opening with immediate vacancies and hiring incentives
WHEN: Saturday, February 25, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

San Antonio Water System (SAWS) is hosting a job fair this Saturday. The utility is filling multiple vacancies for the following field positions, and a $1,000 hiring incentive applies:
- Utility technician – $19.60/hour
- Senior utility technician (Commercial Driver’s License required) – $21.60/hour
- Equipment operator – $23.60/hour.
Individuals are encouraged to review job postings and apply online beforehand, but applications will be available onsite. Interviews will be conducted onsite, as well as a skills assessment for qualifying positions. Offers to candidates are contingent on a successful background check.
- No experience or degree is required for utility technicians.
- Requirements for equipment operator include:
o High School Diploma or GED
o Eighteen months’ experience in the construction, water, wastewater, or similar work environment to include six months’ experience operating heavy equipment.
o Valid Texas Class “A” Commercial Driver License.
All new hires for these positions are eligible for the new hire/retention incentive. External candidates who are hired by SAWS will receive a $1,000 Hiring Incentive. Upon successful completion of the new hire’s six-month introductory period, the new hire will also be eligible for an additional $1,000 Retention Incentive.
